David Bendeth has been working independently as a producer and mixer since 2002. In 2005, he acquired Millenium Studios, which was formerly owned by Whitney Houston, and changed its name to House of Loud, based on a recommendation from Breaking Benjamin's Ben Burnley. The studio quickly became an active production house and mixing room, where Bendeth recorded and mixed numerous albums, including Breaking Benjamin's Dear Agony, Paramore's Riot!, All Time Low's Nothing Personal, Crystal Bowersox's Farmer's Daughter, Of Mice and Men's Restoring Force: Full Circle, Tonight Alive's Limitless, Bring Me the Horizon's Sempiternal, and A Day to Remember's What Separates Me From You. In 2016, The House Of Loud ceased operations, and the studio was closed down shortly after completing work on Of Mice & Men's album Cold World.

This is soo great !!! : ) really nice to hear him saying all the things i think ! he really understands the world of mixing and the music world ! he understands the power of music and a really great mix ! he understands the effects and the ingredients !! and he respects the art. really nice to hear him speaking about all these things : D i know exactly what he means when he says that people cant say anything if they watch him mix !! just like he says !! its a sacred space that has to be respected. infinite freedom has to be existing during the mixing process, not feeling others judgements, to allow creativity to flow beautifully ! : ) sometimes we try crazy things and they work right away sometimes we throw them away and sometimes they take alotta tweaking and it not always something for others to watch ! cos the artists doesn't always understand the meanderings of the mixing path, but we know we have a vision that were going after and it can be very intimate and something we just have to be alone with until its right. what a great man !! rock on david !!!

I started listening intending to just do chapter 1, because my to-do list was calling loudly, but the interview is so good I could not put this book down. Especially loved how he mentions "what the song wants" several times, which is something I agree with 100%. Our list of records differs somewhat but that would be true for everyone I'm sure, but the honesty and sincerity is really apparent and makes for a great conversation. Thanks for the invite.
