This documentary was made by Alain Le Kim from Soundstrips. Alain takes you to the Little Labs headquarters in sunny California, where Jonathan Little manufactures all of his world-famous boxes.

Jonathan Little is a unique character. Having worked as a technical director in many large recording studios in L.A., he is definitely in phase with the needs of audio engineers nowadays. This got him to build numerous "boxes", as he called them, specifically designed for the music industry.

From the prestigious PCP to the BPI, through his recent LMNOPre, you will discover how all of this amazing gear is designed, carefully crafted and tested at the Little Labs HQ in the Hollywood Hills, all while hearing from some of the best-skilled sound engineers in the business, such as Joe Barresi, Michael Belfer, David Boucher, Peter Mokrin, John Paterno, etc.

David is so unique. Love my 151 #103 Rich and beautiful sounding. Did a few memorable recordings with one. Some of my best work that really propelled the artist's career. I would do a 251 at some point. I would. I would. ROSS HOGARTH 'nuff said. Love him, love him, love him. He is toooooo good. Great interview. These guys- we have to learn what we can, as much as we can as fast as we can from them.

At 1:06:46 - 1:10:12 I don't understand his statement about the Gibbs effect, or what digital does to the square wave... I experimented using a square wave generator in my oscilloscope, and I don't ever see pre-ringing. I did a D/A-A/D loop, even there, no pre-ringing. When was this interview? Is he talking about old converters? Is this a problem resolved since a couple of years already? If not, what is he talking about? I don't see the Gibbs effect in my studio. Any insight about this anyone? Well that's the only thing about this video that made me cringe. Other that that, nice documentary

I'm not saying that I can't learn from people but I know how to cook. When I say I know how to cook, I mean really I know my way around. So, as an advice, next time you hold the nife to chop, hold it side way and lean the life to your hand. It will help you avoid cutting yourself and you can also chop anything faster without losing size difference or quality. I know it will take time to grasp it but once you are experienced you will cut the time you spend in the kitchen on a half. Cheers!

I gave this video four stars because it frustrated me. The video was beautify done, very sensitive and thoughtful with great insight into the man behind this unique company. Now back to the frustration part. The doc made me WANT ALL THE CRANE SONG PRODUCTS!!!! Other than that, this is one of the best docs about a plugin maker I've seen. What the heck. I feel it's worth SIX STARS! Thank you for this incredible documentary.
